WHAT IS IT?

The Cartwright is a wearable revolution. It gives the user access to their true strength, bestowing the ability to lift, carry, and hold awkward or heavy weights with ease.

Originally designed to solve problems faced by the inventor when he was undergoing treatment for cancer, it soon revealed it's true potential to make lifting, carrying and holding objects far easier and safer for everybody.

Put simply - it is a device designed to transfer the weight of an object directly to the human body as opposed to being held in the arms. And even we are still amazed by the extra ability and strength this gives us.

The Cartwright is suitable for anyone and everyone who has cause to lift awkward or heavy objects, ever. It is made to very high and exacting standards using the best parts money can buy, and for that reason we have no hesitation in offering a 10-year-warranty on all parts.

The Cartwright turns us into human forklifts, and for many can turn back the clock and enable us to do the tasks we thought we might never do again.
The Cartwright consists of two main parts - the harness, and a "platform" which attaches to it. By resting the object we want to carry on the platform, the load is then taken by the harness instead of our relatively weak arms.
​
By taking our arms almost entirely out of the equation and transferring the weight directly onto our frame - a structure capable of bearing immense loads with little effort - it greatly reduces perceived and actual work performed by us.
​
The Cartwright also forces us to adopt a perfect posture - it's no longer tempting to bend forwards at the waist since the weight is easily held close to the body - just how our doctor told us to do it.

Since our arms are no longer having to hold the object, often only one hand is needed to keep it in place on the lifting platform. This leaves the other hand free to do other tasks such as open doors, use the phone, sign delivery orders, or even have a cup of coffee and a sandwich.

The Cartwright can also be used by two persons, either lifting the weight between themselves on the platforms, or by passing the optional lifting straps underneath the object (see video). This makes lifting enormously heavy and awkward items such as fridges, heavy wooden cabinets, sofas and washing machines far easier.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
We are a NZ company based in beautiful Saint Mary's Bay, Auckland New Zealand. Our flagship product was conceived of when it's inventor (Craig Cartwright) was considerably weakened by the treatment he was receiving for Hodgkins Lymphoma and thinking of ideas to help him carry loads around the house.

Noticing that he frequently balanced the box of firewood on his belt, it struck Craig that this concept might be turned into a useful product.
​​​
Once he got better he started work on the project, and eventually a prototype was developed. After a study by Auckland University backed his hunch that using the Cartwright reduced strain on the arms and improved posture while lifting and carrying a heavy load, he knew he was onto a good thing.

Our team continue to refine the concept, and work is now underway to create other devices working on the same principle (which we hope to bring to you soon).
